In order to improve the quality in the production processes of official statistics generated by the entities belonging to the National Statistical System (NSS), DANE, as the governing, coordinating and regulating body thereof, presents The National Code of Good Practices for Official Statistics to producers and users of statistics.
The implementation of this set of practical rules enables the improvement of quality and credibility of the statistics required for the design, formulation, monitoring and assessment of public plans, programs and policies.
We invite you to consult the Code and take it into account in your statistical activities.

- Regional Code of Good Statistical Practices in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Working Group on Institutional Strengthening coordinated by Colombia accompanied by Mexico, Panama and Paraguay, has developed a proposal for a Regional Code of Good Statistical Practice for Latin America and the Caribbean within the framework of the Statistical Conference of the Americas.
Developments regarding this matter are based on the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics adopted by the United Nations and the Code of Good Practices of European Statistics.
The Regional Code of Good Statistical Practice in Latin America and the Caribbean was discussed and approved at the sixth Conference of the Americas - CEA - in November 2011.
We invite you to consult the Code and take it into account in your statistical activities as a tool for improving the quality and credibility of the statistical information.
