The National Administrative Department of Statistics -DANE-, jointly with the Vice-presidency of the Republic and the Ministry of Social Protection, carries out a strategy aimed at implementing a Continuous registry for the Location and Characterization of Persons with Disabilities in all of the country’s municipalities. According to CONPES 80/2004, the Registry forms part of the National System for information on Disabilities and it has become a technical tool aimed at optimizing the articulation of national, departmental, district, and municipal processes for the social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
