¿What is the difference between this survey and the population census?
the census gathers information about the total population of the country, while surveys gather information from a sample of the population, selected on the basis of the requirements for each survey. therefore, the information has to be expanded to the level of disaggregation established in the survey design.

¿Is it possible to establish the number of poor people form this survey
yes. by obtaining the poverty and indigence lines it is possible to establish the magnitude of poverty. by obtaining information on those households whose income is not enough to acquire a basic basket, it is possible to establish the existing gap in the income of poor people and the income necessary to survive in certain given conditions.
