Census Of Flower Farming

DANE’s interest in detailed figures on Colombian flower industry determined the research design of the Census of Flower Production Units. This research provides data on topics such as planted area, production by type of flower, plant conditions, pest management, waste management, staff employed and participation of the flower industry in the country’s gross domestic product. Given that the major concentration of the production area is in the departments of Cundinamarca and Antioquia, 28 municipalities of the department of Cundinamarca were defined as the initial geographic area for data collection that gave the first result presented herein.
